3D Animator

Job Summary:
As a 3D Animator, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning and realistic animations for various projects, including films, video games, commercials, and other digital media. You will collaborate with a team of artists, designers, and programmers to bring characters, objects, and environments to life through movement and expressions.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Create high-quality 3D animations using industry-standard software and tools.
2. Interpret and execute animation briefs, storyboards, and concept art to produce visually compelling and engaging animations.
3. Collaborate with the animation team and other departments to ensure the overall artistic vision and style are maintained.
4. Develop character performances by studying reference materials and capturing realistic movements and emotions.
5. Rig and skin 3D models for animation, ensuring proper deformation and articulation.
6. Apply principles of animation, such as timing, weight, and anticipation, to create fluid and believable character and object movements.
7. Test and iterate animations based on feedback from supervisors and directors to achieve desired results.
8. Collaborate with technical artists and programmers to troubleshoot and resolve animation-related issues.
9. Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and tools in 3D animation and incorporate them into your work.
10. Maintain organized file structures and adhere to naming conventions for animation assets.
11. Meet project deadlines and work within production schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.
12. Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and successful project completion.

Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer animation, graphic design, or a related field.
2. Strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in 3D character and object animation.
3. Proficient in industry-standard 3D animation software (e.g., Autodesk Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max) and plugins.
4. Solid understanding of animation principles, including timing, weight, posing, and motion arcs.
5. Knowledge of rigging and skinning techniques to facilitate character animation.
6. Familiarity with motion capture techniques and pipelines is a plus.
7. Excellent artistic and observational skills, with an eye for detail and the ability to capture realistic movements and expressions.
8. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to find creative solutions to technical challenges.
9. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a team environment.
10. Ability to receive and incorporate constructive feedback into animations.
11. Knowledge of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, MEL, or C#) is beneficial but not mandatory.
12. Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
